MAPS' Images Processing Section is a high-tech production facility
with the capacity to handle image data projects in the terabyte
range.
It
includes full capability to process ortho images from aerial photography
as well as satellite images. This combination opens possibilities
to provide the needed data in the fastest and most economic way.
The recent introduction of the high-resolution satellite imagery,
such as 61 cm resolution QuickBird images, provides a new, important
data source for many GIS and mapping applications.
Aerial
photography and satellite imagery have both their advantages and
disadvantages. For many applications the choice of one or the other
is obvious. In the grey area, where the potential usage of aerial
photography and satellite imagery overlap, a careful evaluation
is needed to determine the most advantageous procedure. Being a
provider for aerial photography as well as satellite imagery with
the highest resolution, MAPS can offer unbiased advice.
